To visit in our area

Valciveres is a beautiful, relatively unknown part of the Auvergne. Old stone mountain paths weave through the forest – clearing to give you spectacular views of the valley or across to the Puy de Dome and the Sancy. You rarely pass other walkers – it is a natural haven.. and in the evening all you will hear is the distant sound of a river and the occasional owl!

For food enthusiasts the town of Ambert (15 mins by car) boasts no fewer than 6 bakeries, 5 or more butchers, a couple of cheese and wine specialists and of course the obligatory large supermarkets.

The Ambert market is on Thursday morning throughout the year – with exceptional local produce and a strong bio and farm presence.  The market is held around the very charming town hall – the only round building to house a town hall in France.
